Dollar For is hiring a part-time contractor to gather information for our database of hospital financial assistance policies. This job is a good fit for a detail-minded, persistent “internet detective” who can extract information from complicated legal-type documents. The project is expected to last 6 to 9 months.
Responsibilities
- Find hospital financial assistance policies online, through Google searches and website browsing.
- Review the policies to identify specific details we want to capture in our database.
- Enter the data in our online forms.
- Review the work of other researchers for accuracy.
- Update our existing database records as hospital policies change over time.
- Consult with other staff and sometimes attorneys to resolve questions about policy terms.
- Figure out which hospitals belong to which hospital systems.
- Participate in and contribute to team efforts to identify and implement program improvements
Requirements
- At least 1-3 years of experience working in a professional setting.
- Experienced at doing online research for business purposes.
- Experienced at reading and understanding legal documents, such as insurance policies or contracts.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to be meticulous about capturing accurate information.
- Able to work independently (after being trained) to reach or exceed goals for the amount of work done.
- Curious-minded, logical, and persistent to find information that is sometimes hidden in unexpected places.
- Skilled at using internet browsers and filling out online forms.
- Familiar with programs such as Slack, Google Drive, and Gmail.
- Big plus: Oriented toward helping to improve our processes and tools.
- Motivated by our mission and the patients we serve.
Pay and Logistics
- Researchers will be hired as 1099 employees at a rate of $20 / hour and an expected monthly workload of 80 hours.
- Dollar For will pay contractors monthly upon receipt of an invoice detailing hours worked.
- We would prefer that at least half of your working hours be during business hours Pacific time.
- This position is for a 6 to 9 month project, possibly continuing beyond that depending on funding.
- 100% remote work environment. You must provide your own laptop or desktop computer with a reliable internet connection.
