Dollar For is accepting applications from compassionate, energetic, and detail-focused customer service or administrative experts to join our patient advocacy team. We will be hiring one full-time team member.
Dollar For helps patients navigate hospital charity care programs to crush medical debt. Patient advocates serve as the front line workers who support patients working through the financial assistance process by completing hospital applications on their behalf, providing personalized email and text support, communicating with hospitals on behalf of patients and guiding the appeal process when needed.

Responsibilities
- Complete hospital financial assistance applications on behalf of clients.
- Develop an expertise of the Dollar For database, protocols, and templates to offer timely, caring, and thoughtful responses to client needs.
- Respond to emails and texts – and conduct phone calls to help clients navigate the financial assistance processes.
- Work with Dollar For leadership and legal advisors to plan appeals.
- Participate in and contribute to team meetings to identify and implement program improvements.
Requirements
- Fluent English speaker and writer
- 1-3 years of experience with customer service and administrative work – ideally in a professional work setting.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and comfort with technical forms and financial documents.
- Ability to empathize and understand the challenges and opportunities clients face.
- Written and verbal communication skills to clearly interface with clients, hospitals, and other key partners.
- Know your way around programs like Slack, Google Drive and Gmail.
- Critical thinking and decision-making to plan the best course of action for their clients.
- Strong sense of discretion regarding patient financial data.
- Previous work with disadvantaged communities or knowledge of medical billing practices, health insurance systems, or debt collection is a huge plus!
- Spanish speaking and writing is a bonus!
Pay, Perks and Benefits
- $43,000 starting salary.
- 35-hour work week and flexible scheduling.
- 100% remote work environment with a Dollar For provided computer.
- A bank of 20 days of paid time off (PTO) per year after the first 90 days of employment.
- 15 paid organizational holidays, including federal holidays and a weeklong closure in late December.

- Access to a 401k for retirement savings. At this time, Dollar For does not match employee contributions.
